A County Down mother is launching a new card game which not only is fun to play but also teaches the entire family about Irish heritage. 'Happy Families - Exploring Ireland' is deceptively simple to play but requires keen observation and memory skills.

Moya Sands, now living in Barcelona is launching her new game 15 May. The game aims to teach families about Ireland's rich culture, beautiful natural landscapes and magical mythological heritage in a fun and engaging way. Sands sees the game as a perfect way to keep the young and the young at heart connected with the culture and heritage of the island.

“As a mother of two small kids, I wanted to combine my cultural and educational background with a yearning to teach my family about Ireland in an amusing and entertaining way,” said Sands. “I believe that this game will not only be fun for families, but also an educational tool that allows them to learn about the heritage of the island of Ireland in a unique and interactive way.”

The idea behind the game is that children learn and retain information better when they are having fun. 'Happy Families - Exploring Ireland' is a traditional game with a cultural twist that will take you on an unforgettable journey through Ireland's natural and cultural heritage with its seven 'family' groupings: Cities, Landmarks, Food, Music, Traditions, Mythology, and Symbols.

The aim is to collect all the cards in a family then as many families as possible to win. From the bustling streets of Dublin to the spectacular Giant’s Causeway, each card features vibrant illustrations that capture the essence of Ireland's famous landmarks, vibrant culture and ancient mythology.

Included in the game is an information booklet that provides more details and facts about each card, making it a great way to impress family and friends with newfound knowledge of the island of Ireland.

Sands has a deep connection to the music of County Down. As the daughter of legendary folk and peace activist Tommy Sands, she spent many years touring the world with her father, sharing the music of Ireland with audiences around the globe.

However, during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Sands found herself missing her homeland and wanted a way to connect her children to her roots. When she couldn't find any suitable games on the area, she decided to create her own. The game is a result of that desire to connect her family to her homeland and to share the beauty of Ireland's culture and heritage with others.

Happy Clan's 'Happy Families - Exploring Ireland' is being launched on 15 of May and is available for pre-order on the company's website www.happy-clan.com. The game can be enjoyed by families of all ages and is the perfect way to connect with Irish heritage in a fun and engaging way.
