The 36th Fiddler's Green International Festival gets going in earnest today, 24 July in Rostrevor, with an incredible range of events happening in the village between now and Sunday 28 July. The festival has already warmed up with a sprinkling of events taking place since last weekend.
From Concerts to walks to nature workshops to art exhibitions. From great sessions to Music and Healing to sports, to a whole range of children's events, there's a multitude of reasons for making a beeline for the picturesque village throughout this week.
Top of the concert list is an already sold out gig by renowned singer songwriter Paul Brady. Brady is receiving the festival's coveted Hall of Fame Award on Sunday 28 July. Eleanor Shanley and Garadice also appear on stage earlier that day. More Power to Your Elbow are there as well as Lisa Lambe & Steve Cooney, Máirtín O’Connor, Seamie O’Dowd & Cathal Hayden, TURAS: Fintan Vallely and friends and of course you can't have Fiddler's Green without a magical concert from The Sands Family.
Tonight 24 July to get the festival going proper the festival has '20 Singers 20 Songs' with established and up and coming local singers taking to the stage in St Bronagh's Social Club
