The Newry Drama festival had special guest players who were non- competing on Wednesday evening and what a triumph the night was. Lislea Dramatic Players brought their production of ‘See How They Run’ by Philip King to the Town Hall Stage.
Set in a vicarage at the end of World War 2 where the vicar had married a West End actress to the consternation of some of the villagers, the play provides a laugh a minute farce for the whole family. The standard of acting was excellent throughout.
The set was intricate yet magnificent and beautifully dressed. The direction, lighting and sound were seamless and above all the play enthralled the audience, some of whom queued for nearly an hour to purchase tickets. It was wonderful to see a virtually full house and the festival committee offer sincere thanks to all involved in this most talented company for providing a superb night’s entertainment.
Tonight Newpoint Players take to the stage for Samuel Beckett's Happy Days with curtain up at 7.30pm. Tickets at the door.
