Write a commentThe Magnet Young Adult Centre Drama Group is presenting their play Give It To Me Straight on Wednesday the 19th of March at 7.30pm in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre in Newry.
Give It To Me Straight - is community theatre piece that explores the language of homophobia and challenges the question, do we mould our opinions on the words of others?
The play has been written and developed by the Magnet Youth Centre’s LBGT and ME Group and Drama Group. It draws on real life testimonies and is a part of Northern Ireland’s inclusion and EDI policy’s.
The play tackles issues such as homophobia on social media and in schools.
The night will also host a graffiti art exhibition called Noise For Acceptance.
The exhibition features three large works produced by young adults aged 15-20. The works are inspired by current events both globally and locally.
The play was funded through the SELB Youth Service and running time is 30 Mins
Admission is FREE.
The play is not suitable for those under 15!
