The Newry Arts Festival is returning to the city from 1-7 April with an incredibly broad range of events taking place throughout the city. From captivating street art to soul-stirring classical music, from thought-provoking drama to side-splitting comedy, the festival promises to showcase the diverse talents and beauty of our region.
Wander through streets transformed by art, indulge in the magic of street theatre, and let the melodies of traditional music captivate your soul. With exhibitions, interactive workshops, and performances for all ages, Newry Arts Festival promises an unforgettable experience.
One of the first events is a one-woman production of I am Maura performed by Newry local Calla Hughes. Calla is a local actor who has been performing in different productions throughout the Newry drama scene ever since she was a child.
I am Maura is the story of 15-year-old Maura on her struggles to find a boyfriend only to find out new and exciting surprises about herself and her sexuality in the process. Calla will play 20 different characters throughout the production as she tells Maura’s story. It's not to be missed and you can book tickets at www.visitmournemountains.co.uk
