A Newry solicitor firm has donated funding to Newpoint Players following the drama group's qualification for the All Ireland Finals in Athlone in May.
Newpoint qualified with their play 'In the Shadow of the Glen: Reimagined'. The J.M. Synge play has been adapted by Séan Treanor and to date they have won festivals at Castleblaney, Tobercurry and Ballymoney. Locals can see the performance as part of the Newry Drama Festival on Thursday 21 March in Newry Town Hall.
The Elliott-Trainor Partnership has donated £500 towards the Newpoint Players All-Ireland campaign chest. The Elliott- Trainor Partnership are a long-standing firm of solicitors in the Newry area providing a wide range of services. These have been noted in high places including an endorsement in recent years from the pulpit of a local church when the priest, preaching on marital fidelity, noted, "At the least little argument you're going over to Elliott & Trainor looking for a separation!" Praise indeed!
