Newry Town Hall is MAD4TRAD

Get ready for an electrifying night of traditional Irish music in Newry at MAD4TRAD! Not one but two outstanding acts will take to the Newry Town Hall stage Saturday 3 May.

There's Johnny Quinn Macs, a powerhouse trio featuring John McSherry, Brendán Quinn, and Francis McIlduff as well as Tempest, a dynamic ensemble of top Ulster musicians: Brendan Mulholland, Blaithín Mhic Cana, Aaron O’Hagan, and Luke Ward.

With duelling uilleann pipes, soaring whistles, tight harmonies, and driving rhythms, John McSherry, Brendán Quinn, and Francis McIlduff bring a fresh energy to the tradition. Between them, they have played with some of the biggest names in folk and beyond, including Clannad, Sinéad O’Connor, and Rod Stewart.

Tempest

A dynamic ensemble of top Ulster musicians: Brendan Mulholland, Blaithín Mhic Cana, Aaron O’Hagan, and Luke Ward. Since forming in 2023, they’ve already made waves in the trad scene, blending rich Ulster heritage, captivating vocals, and exhilarating instrumental interplay. Their highly anticipated debut album is set for release in early 2025.
