Halloween celebrations are kicking off in Newry city centre this weekend with 12 bars across the city hosting what's being billed as the largest ever fancy dress competition this Saturday 26 October. The event launches Newry BID's week-long 'Spooks in the City' programme, which runs until Saturday 1 November with activities for all ages.
Revellers just need to dress up and head to any of the participating bars from 9pm this Saturday. Each venue will award prizes, with winners going forward as finalists for Newry BID's Best Fancy Dress title. Photos of venue winners will be posted on BID's Facebook page where followers can vote for their favourite. The overall winner takes home a £250 voucher prize package.
