North Armagh Artists Collective hold Exhibition at Arts Centre

An Exhibition entitled Monomyth by the (NAAC) North Armagh Artists Collective has opened in the Carroll Gallery, Sean Hollywood Arts Centre in Newry and continues until the 27th of March

Founded in 2010, NAAC is a dynamic group of artists with a wide range of creative disciplines which include, painting, textiles, video, installation, poetry, performance art, street art, illustration and sculpture.    It was established as a base for artists living outside Belfast, providing a supportive environment for younger emerging artists and new directions for more established artists, while engaging with the local community with workshops and events.

The artists are; Ciaran Maginnis, Julie McGowan, Paul King, Kathryn Nelson, Joanna Breen, Wendy Roberts, and Dermot Burns

This exhibition MONOMYTH, will showcase the diverse talents of these artists from the North Armagh locality. Monomyth allows each artist in the collective to produce new work in response to the theme.  The exhibition will showcase the broad range of styles which draw on the rich tradition of storytelling in Ireland’s cultural heritage.  As a group they all bring their own perspective in exploring ideas of narrative and mythological cycles.
