When I get the vaccine
When I am Covid free
I want to tell you now
There’ll be no stopping me.
I’ll hop into my Peugeot
and sing my happy songs.
I’ll head for Dublin airport
and be airborne before long.
It only takes a short flight
Edinburgh my destination
I know Helena waits for me
with growing anticipation.
We’ll sip prosecco and reminisce
of lockdown days now past
We’ll visit all our favourite stores
devoid of visors or masks.
Back home again in Newry
Oh how I’ve missed this station.
the 8 48 is waiting
Belfast my destination.
Gemma will be at the barrier.
We’ll hug and head for the the beach.
We have planned cold water swimming
I’ll drown! No you’ll love it says she.
When I get the vaccine
When I am Covid free
I’ll say YES to ALL possibilities
YES to land air and sea.
