Rath Literary Festival is returning to Rathfriland this June with a four-day programme of events aimed at all ages.
Running from Thursday 4 June to Sunday 7 June the festival will take place across several venues including Chandler's House, Drumballyroney Church and the Brontë Homeland Interpretative Centre.
Organising committee member Ada Elliott said the programme has been put together with the wider community in mind. Building on last year's schools competitions, free children's writing workshops will be added to this year's weekend programme, led by local writer and creative educator Arlene Pattison.
Returning faces include authors Tony Macauley and Maggie Doyle and musician Anne Harper, while new additions to the programme include Chrissie Walsh, Éanna Ni Lamhna and Lord Iveagh, author of Guinness: A Family Succession.
Elliott said: "We will have special performances by the Newpoint Players and Suzanne Savage, a Ceilidh House session run by John Shannon and a big screen showing of the current Hollywood film Wuthering Heights - so there is something for everyone to enjoy. The events at Drumballyroney Church are a great way to see inside this fantastic building which has so much history and significance to the Brontë family."
