EIMCO Water Technologies has defied the Economic Downturn to sign major waste water contracts in excess of £10 Million. The Newry based company have Battled the recession by signing several major waste-water treatment contracts in Ireland, in excess of £10M.
One of these contracts is to design & build a wastewater treatment works for the village of Bushmills, home of the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery, which celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2008. and Toome in Co Antrim.
This contract is a joint venture (JV) between two local companies. GEDA Construction, an award winning Civil Engineering Company located in Dungannon, Co Tyrone and Eimco Water Technologies Ireland.
The new works, located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the Giant's Causeway World Heritage site, has been designed to cater for fluctuations in the hydraulic loading that can double to almost 9000pe during the summer.
Also included in the £7 million Bushmills Wastewater Treatment Works is a new terminal pumping station at Portballintrae and transfer pipework between the two catchments.
Other contract awarded to EWT Ireland included the design and construction of two activated sludge plants in the villages of Gowran and Thomastown in County Kilkenny, and a Major Effluent Treatment Plant for JL Grubb in Co Carlow, producers of the famous Cashel Blue Cheese.
Welcoming the news that locally based company, EIMCO Water Technologies, has received several major waste-water treatment contracts in Ireland, local MP Conor Murphy has said; "The announcement that Newry based, Eimco Water Technologies, has secured several major contracts is very welcome indeed. It is of particular significance coming amidst a litany of negative announcements in other sectors. "Eimco is a local company and creates employment for people in this area by using local suppliers. "This announcement is further evidence of the importance of the Executive's continued support for local businesses. "Continued financial assistance will ensure that we get maximum return to the local economy.

These contracts valued well in excess of £10Million are evidence of the company's growing strength in the market place and their collaborative efforts, working with partners and suppliers in achieving cohesive economies.
