First Derivatives take 100% ownership of Kx Systems with $53.8M payment

Newry firm First Derivatives have completed the acquisition of the minority shareholdings in data processing company Kx Systems. Completion of the transaction takes the Group’s ownership of Kx Systems to 100% for consideration of $53.8m in cash.

Kx provides tools for processing real-time and historical data.Kx technology is built on the kdb+ database, independently verified as the world’s fastest time-series database. Kdb+ is optimized for ingesting, analyzing, and storing massive amounts of structured data.One feature that really sets Kx apart is its ability to combine streaming, in-memory and historical data in one simple and unified platform.
