Newry, Mourne and Down Local Economic Partnership, funded by the Department for the Economy NI, is working with Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Centre to deliver a free, hands-on workshop tailored for SME decision-makers, leaders and operational staff looking to explore how AI could drive real value for their business.
The workshop will be held at the Canal Court Hotel 17 February from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm, and is designed for those with no technical background, just an interest in understanding artificial intelligence and its practical applications. The event is open exclusively to businesses based within the Newry, Mourne and Down council area, in line with funding requirements, and registrations will be reviewed to ensure eligibility.
The AI Acceleration Tour is a practical workshop designed to demystify artificial intelligence and bring its real-world business potential to life for SMEs. With expert-led sessions and interactive live sessions the event will cover the fundamentals of data and artificial intelligence, including understanding the foundations of AI, everyday interactions with the technology, and real-world AI success stories and business use cases.
Participants will learn practical steps to prepare their business for successful AI adoption, including identifying and generating business data, managing live data and understanding its implications, exploring infrastructure options such as on-premises versus cloud, understanding risks like data leaks, and incorporating new technologies into their operations. The workshop will also cover building AI strategy responsibly, aligning AI with business goals, structuring the right people and processes for AI success, and staying in harmony with ethics and data privacy best practices.
The highly interactive session is designed to equip attendees with practical knowledge and tools to make an immediate impact on their business's AI adoption journey. The day will also feature ample networking opportunities, complemented by refreshments throughout, with breakout sessions included for discussions and brainstorming solutions together.
The workshop will close with information on how to connect with the AICC and what to expect, collaborative delivery formats to suit different AI needs, and a final Q&A session to explore next steps.
The event is aimed at SME decision-makers exploring AI as a driver for business growth and hands-on professionals looking for practical ways to integrate AI into their workflows, but is not intended for individuals with moderate to advanced experience or knowledge in AI, Machine Learning and Data Science.
