Education Minister visits Newry Schools

Minister for Education, Michele McIlveen took time out yesterday to visit three Newry schools.

First visit of the day was to St Ronan's Primary School when she presented an IQM Flagship School Award to Principal, Kevin Donaghy. The Minister was also pleased to watch lots of activities on display and pupils making good use of Engage funding.and

The second Ministerial visit of the day was to St Joseph's Boys' High School where the Minister praised the fantastic efforts by pupils on their work for the local food bank and homeless charity.

On the last visit of the day Minister McIlveen called at Newry High School where she discussed sports facilities at the school with members of the school council, staff and Principal Lestyn Brown.
