POSITION: Mechanical and Electrical Technicians
DURATION: 40 hours per week
DESCRIPTION:
Carnagat based Resonate Testing is an ambitious, cutting-edge mechanical and environmental test facilitator. Our services support a wide range of industries including mission-critical components and systems, in high-performance testing for high-growth markets such as the Space, Battery, Automotive and Aerospace sectors—ensuring they meet the most rigorous standards for durability, safety, and performance.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and practical Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to support the operation of our advanced test laboratory.
Job Title: Mechanical and Electrical Technicians
Start Date: Sept/ Oct 2025
Salary Range: £28,000+ per annum (commensurate with experience)
Hours: 40 per week
Reporting To: Laboratory Manager
Note: Applicants must have appropriate permits and visas to work in the UK.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Where necessary, training will be provided. Importantly you will be given the opportunity to play a vital hands-on role in supporting a range of mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing activities, ensuring our test systems are accurate, safe, and efficient. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Test Rig Operation:
Assemble, wire, and operate complex mechanical and electrical test rigs for thermal, vibration, and shock testing. - Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on specialist test equipment, ensuring performance and reliability. - Data Acquisition Support:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot instrumentation and sensors to gather accurate test data. - Documentation:
Accurately document test setups, procedures, and outcomes in line with quality standards. - Health and Safety Compliance:
Maintain a safe and controlled working environment through adherence to all safety procedures. - Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers to deliver successful test campaigns. - Process Improvement:
Contribute ideas and feedback to support continuous improvement of laboratory operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a test laboratory, R&D, or industrial engineering environment, preferable.
- Strong mechanical assembly and/or electrical wiring skills.
- Familiarity with environmental testing methods (vibration, thermal, shock), preferable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics, preferable.
- Desirable: Forklift licence, full UK driving licence, PLC knowledge.
