Rockfield care home in Newry has been chosen by residents and their families as one of the Top 20 care homes in Northern Ireland.
There are 418 care homes in Northern Ireland with the top 20 receiving an award from the UK’s leading reviews guide to care homes, Carehome.co.uk.
The award is based on reviews of the care home written by their residents, as well as their friends and relatives.
One residents relation explained how staff members gave hugs when relatives couldn't due to Covid-19 regulations. "I window visited here every day and on the difficult days when she couldn't understand why I wasn't able to come inside hugs were given by staff members which were invaluable. Well done to the manager and her amazing staff for talking us through such a difficult time - thank you all."
