Write a commentPolice are appealing for information following an incident in Belleeks last night (Tuesday) where a woman and a young boy entered the house of an elderly woman claiming that the boy was ill and requesting a glass of water.
At approximately 7.30pm the elderly female occupant of the house heard someone in the hallway of her property. On checking, she found an adult female and a young boy in her house. The woman said that the young boy was ill and could she have a glass of water for him. The lady asked them to step outside of the house whilst she went into the kitchen. However when she returned the two intruders were back in the hallway. She then escorted both of them off her premises. It is believed they had a grey car waiting in the estate, which they left in.
The woman is described as being between 45/50 years of age, approximately 5’/5’2” tall, of medium build, blonde/fair hair, tied up in a bun and wearing a grey dress with a pattern on it. The dress had a belt around the waist.
The young boy is described as being approximately 14/15 years of age, short fair hair, very slim build and wearing a red hoodie.
It is not believed anything has been stolen.
The woman was not injured, however she was left very badly shaken.
Detective Constable David Skillen would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed these two persons or this grey car to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime, Ardmore on the non-emergency number 101. Police would appeal to all elderly residents to ensure their doors are secure at all times and to the general public who have elderly neighbours to check on them regularly.
