Write a commentPolice in Newry arrested a 43 year old man on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply after stopping a car on fire on Belfast Road.
Around 1pm on Tuesday, 20 November, police on patrol stopped a car with a fire under the bonnet. While officers gave assistance they observed a quantity of cannabis in the front seat. The driver was arrested and a subsequent search of a house in the Whyte Acres area of Banbridge was conducted. Twenty cannabis plants were seized.
The 43 year old was released pending further enquiries and the investigation is ongoing.
