Jewellery and cash stolen

Detectives are investigating two burglaries of residential properties in the Newry area last week. 

The first break in occurred between Sunday 21 August and Tuesday 23 August when a house in the New Line area of Drumintee was entered and a number of items of jewellery stolen.

Also sometime between 1pm and 2.15pm on Tuesday 23 August a house in the Clontigora Hill area of Newry was entered and a sum of cash and a number of items of jewellery stolen.

A blue coloured Audi car was seen leaving the house around 2pm. A blue Audi car, believed to have been involved, was recovered by police later the same day on the Parkview area of Cloughoge. This was taken away for further examination.

Detectives are investigating a possible link between these two burglaries and are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles in the area or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 686 of 23/08/16.
