Over the next two Bank Holiday Mondays they will be promoting important safety messages through their Social Media Takeover.
Speaking about this new initiative Newry and Mourne Area Commander, Chief Inspector Davy Beck said: “We use a variety of methods to promote road safety awareness in our District from workshops to crash demonstrations. Recognising that many people use social media platforms as a source of information, especially when they are on the go, we are using our Twitter and Facebook sites to encourage the sharing of road safety messages. And we need your help!
“If you are already a follower of the PSNI Facebook or Twitter accounts then all you need to do is like, share and retweet! For those of you who haven’t signed up, do it now! We want to reach as many people as possible over those three key dates and by showing your support for this campaign you are visibly demonstrating your personal commitment to making our roads safer for everyone.”
Road Safety messages will appear on all of the PSNI’s Facebook and Twitter accounts on May 5, and May 26. There will be a different message for each day and for each social media platform.
