Write a commentPolice in Newry are appealing for information after a report of an assault at the High Street area on Sunday past 25th May.
At around 10:50pm, it was reported that a group of youths were walking between Water Street and the High Street tunnel when they were approached by an unknown male. It is believed that a verbal altercation occured between the male and one of the male youths, when a female in the group received a bite to her hand by the male. The female was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to her injuries that are not believed to be serious.
Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed this assault or who has any information to contact them at Newry on the non emergency number 101.
