Police in South Armagh are sending a clear message to motorists who flout the law that there is no hiding place for drivers who put their own and others safety at risk on the roads.
Officers on patrol in Camlough on Saturday, 23 February, detected a motorist driving with no insurance. Officers observed a silver Audi A4 and were able to conduct a mobile check on their Blackberry devices which showed no insurance for the vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle and the male driver admitted having no insurance.
The vehicle was seized and a 'Seized by Police' sticker placed on the window as a deterrent to other road users.
The driver will be reported to the PPS and will face the cost of recovering his vehicle.
Constable Bell said: "We are committed to reducing the number of people killed or injured on our roads. We will continue to conduct patrols and target those who drive with no licence or insurance as they pose a real risk to all road users."
