Write a commentArmagh emerged victorious against Down in both the Minor and the Senior Championship openers at the newly named Morgan Athletic Grounds in Armagh in front of a 13,000 crowd.
The minors started the day with what seemed like an impossible victory trailing by ten points at one stage and looking dead and buried ten minutes from half time.
Final Score: Armagh 3:11 Down 5:4
In the Senior Game Armagh always were the dominant side throughout with Jamie Clarke scoring a goal and two points, Aaron Kernan, five points and Billy Joe Padden, three points.
Final Score: Armagh 1:15 Down 1:10
