Any Armagh fans who dared believe that fresh from beating Kildare the previous week, their team could, just maybe take on and beat Tyrone in Croke Park on Saturday didn't have long to bask in that particular theory, as from the word go Mickey Hartes men worked up an eight point lead in scarcely 15 minutes, with the help of an early penalty conversion.

Armagh's Niall Grimley got their first score from a free three minutes later but they were only able to add another three points before the half time whistle.
The game never seemed in reach for Armagh going in to the second half already seven points down but unlike many other times when the half time break spurred the team on to a nail biting finale, things just got worse.
With Tyrone dominating there were slim pickings indeed for Armagh, managing just another four points to bow out of the Championship with a final score of Tyrone 3:17 Armagh 0:8
