When the two counties met in the National League earlier in the year, Wicklow won by 4 points with a number of Armagh players unavailable for that game which was played in Aughrim. The home advantage on Saturday and a full strength team will be crucial.
Wicklow had to go to a replay to overcome Kildare in the previous round and the extra competitive game will no doubt stand to them. Armagh manager John Lennon hopes to have a full panel to select from but training has been hampered this week by exams which is due mostly to the youth policy that he has adopted this year with captain Ciaran Clifford the oldest player on the team at 28.
The commitment of all concerned has been first class this year and hopefully a good crowd will make themselves available on Saturday to show their support for the team. Please come along and support our senior county hurling team.
