Bosco Notes 14th January 2013

Boot Camp

The second Boot Camp took place on Sunday morning. Over 60 children turned up on a cold and wintery morning in St Colman’s College sports complex for 2 hours of intense training delivered by members of the senior football team.

Golden Jubilee Celebrations

Our Golden Jubilee Celebrations start on Sunday 27th January with a Mass of Thanksgiving in St Brigid’s Church at 11:30 a.m. All Newry Gaels are invited to join with the Bosco family of players, supporters, ex-players and members to celebrate 50 years of sport in the royal and amber. Gales including county dignitaries and representatives from all Down and Armagh clubs are also invited to attend.

Mouthguards

All parents, members and players are reminded that it is now compulsory for all age groups to wear mouth guards during matches and training.

Local Dental Specialist Damian O’Hare recommends that players U12 and younger use the ‘boil & bite’ mouth guards as their teeth have yet to fully develop. Over 12’s should have their mouth guards fitted by a professional.

Child protection Training

All mentors are reminded that the next child protection course is scheduled for Wednesday 13th February at 7:00 p.m. in Mayobridge GAC.  Any mentor that has not completed training must attend this course. It is also recommended that any mentor who has completed their child protection course more than 3 years ago attend this also.
