Write a commentGolden Jubilee Mass
The St John Bosco GAC celebrated the start of their Golden Jubilee celebrations with a special Mass of Thanksgiving in St Brigid’s Church on Sunday 27th. This also allowed the club an opportunity to mark the feast day of their Patron Saint, John Bosco on the 31st January.
The Mass celebrated by St John Bosco GAC Club Chaplain Fr Tony Corr CC with St Catherine’s Concert Band providing the music attracted a large turnout from club members, players, parents, supporters past and present along with Gaels from the Ulster Council, Down County Board and club members from across Down and Armagh.
At the start of Mass members of the club carried gifts reflecting the life of St John Bosco GAC and the GAA including three Ulster cups including the Railway Cup, Dr Lagan Cup and the Fr Murray Minor Cup courtesy of the Down County Board.
After the Mass the St John Bosco members, guests and friends gathered on the Stepd of St Brigid’s for a commemorative photograph and then all went to St Patrick’s P.S. for tea and coffee courtesy of Ciaran Mackin School principal.
