St John Bosco Gaelic for Mothers

Bosco Gaelic4Mothers travelled to the County Antrim village of Randalstown to take part in the Ulster Gaelic4Mothers&Others Blitz. The sun shone bright on the Tir Na nOg club as the Bosco ladies arrived for the 10.00am registration.

After the long Journey Ulster Council coordinator Owen Mooney furnished Bosco coach Mo Rooney with the days fixtures.

First up on pitch no. 1 was a very fun filled game against hosts Tir Na nOg and whilst it is important not to keep and record scores both teams served a treat of attacking football from the start but it was the accuracy of the Bosco forward line which caught the eye.

After a sunny start to the days blitz the dark clouds soon rolled in and in the Bosco,s second match versus St. Marys from Convoy in Donegal neither team could record a score due to the torrential rain but credit to both teams the battled through the storm. In game 3 the Bosco G4M&O,s faced Creggan Kickhams in what was another face paced high scoring game played in the sunshine this time. Mo Rooney was delighted to get to lunch time not only because at this stage he was starving but also that the team got through the morning with no injuries well some midget bites may count as injuries.

After the well deserved lunch time break in the boiling Co Antrim sun the Bosco ladies faced Bredagh in what was to be their last game of the day and like the Convoy game the heavens opened and spoiled what was sure to be another fun filled fast paced game of football.

The Bosco ladies can hold their heads up high after a very successful day of football and the way they represented the club both on and off the pitch is a credit to this bunch of ladies.

Great credit also must go to Owen Mooney from the Ulster Council who organised a great day. The home team of Tir Na nOg supplied their fantastic pitches and changing facilities and after match entertainment and for this they must be congratulated and the rumours are true that they couldn't get Mo out of the bar.

Next up for the Bosco G4M&Os is the Saval blitz on the 19th of July, details to follow.
