BOSCO v BURREN
The u12 girls were severely depleted on Wednesday night due to 8 players being on holidays including the three regular full backs and as a result a number of positional changes were required. On a positive note the return of Chloe Quinn to the forward line after injury proved timely as she contributed 2: 04.
Bosco started the stronger and the combined work of Niamh Burns and Traesa McKinley kept the Burren forwards at bay. Chloe scored her 1st goal and added 2 point before Burren registered their 1st point. They quickly added a goal and a pointed free to level matters but Bosco finished the half well with 2 points from Nicola Downey and a brilliant individual goal from Chloe Quinn.
This comfortable five point cushion soon evaporated as Burren dominated the early part of the 2nd half with a goal and a point without reply to leave a single point separating the sides. Chloe Quinn chipped over a point to steady things and when Aimee Murtagh fired in a goal the game looked safe for Bosco. Back came Burren however and again a well worked team goal reduced the gap to 2 points. In the final five minutes Burren pushed for the goal they needed but an excellent block by Traesa McKinley and a goal mouth clearance from Nicole Cunningham proved decisive to the result.

Annual U12 Girls Tournament on 31st August 2013
Several teams have already committed to our tournament in August and we will again use the Whitegates centre as a base to allow easy access to the pitch.
Bosco U12 Girls to Play at Croke Park
The best of luck to our two under 12 players Nicola Downey and Aine McCabe who will represent the Bosco Club at the Down Activity day in Croke Park this Tuesday 9th July 2013. The girls will get a change to play a match on the famous Croke Park pitch and also get a tour of the stadium. The exceptional performances of the two girls to date this year mean that they will not look out of place at the famous venue.

Film Nights Summer 2013
The very popular film nights are back again this summer! Every Monday at 7:30 p.m. the place to be for all underage members and their friends is in the club to see the latest big films. Part of our community outreach programme the film nights are organised to help parents fill those long summer nights and ensure children are taking part in organised activities. As such the event is open to all young members of our community. Admission is free, just bring your sweets and soft drinks - this event is sponsored by St John Bosco GAC.

The annual Jack Mackin Memorial Tournament will be held on 11th August 2013 in St Patrick’s Primary School
Paul McKeown wins Holiday Competition
Congratulations - With their impersonation of ‘Twins’ Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, Paul McKeown and his mate, Uí Sheachnasaigh Óg (Tiny O’Shaughnessy) from Ballymun won first prize in the recent Butlins Talentless Competition.

Club day At The Races
We are organising a joint Dundrum/St John Bosco Day at the Races in Downpatrick Sunday 11th August £40 per head which includes racecourse entry, food, free £5 bet, return bus fare and after race entertainment.
