Armagh’s All-Ireland Ladies Gaelic footballers success was celebrated by a joint civic reception hosted by the local councils last Wednesday night in Armagh City Hotel.
The young champions relived the magical memories of their run to Mary Quinn Cup glory in the company of family and friends.
Hosted by the three Councils whose districts provided players to the squad, Armagh, Craigavon and Newry and Mourne, this event formally recognised the achievement of a highly successful side.
Lord Mayor Sharon Haughey commented, “It is important that these young ladies receive the recognition which they deserve in light of their superb success, everyone in the county is justly proud of their achievements. Considering there are three Council areas within the county, it made sense for us to come together to stage this event and we have worked closely with our colleagues from Craigavon and Newry and Mourne to ensure a memorable and enjoyable evening.”
The winning team members and management took top billing at the banquet, which was also attended by Owen Reel, Chairman of Armagh Ladies County Board.
