Under 14 league game
Ballymacnab v Corrinshego 2 - 10 V 5 – 19
So often in the past this away fixture on the calendar brought a tight affair which usually ended in defeat but not this time. Right from the start the Corrinshego u14 team were on top of their counterparts. From full back to full forward each individual played their role well and by half time the game was well won. The scoreline read 3-10 to 0-4 at the break and as usual Adam Loughran was the pick of the forwards, with six points in the opening period, the pick of them being a 45 which he pumped over with ease. It was a half where full forward Ryan Connolly also shone, scoring a goal and a point but it was the picking out of his team mates selflessly time and again that impressed his coaches. Ryan Gray also got on the scoresheet before he was substituted at half time for Glenn Murray.
The second half saw more of the same, however goals were in shorter supply and the away side conceded 2 in the second period, before they shored things up at the back through captain Niall McShane who deserved the 3 points he scored from open play. McShane is beginning to show some promise as a potential Corrinshego player of the future, as is midfielder and Armagh Development Squad player Conor Jennings, who gave a masterly display in how to play 'the big midfielder' throughout the game. Even with these fine performances it was Liam McKeown who actually stole the show, who may have found a more comfortable role to play, as he was outstanding at half forward and topped it off with a fine goal in the first half.
A welcome return to winning ways for the boys and a home game against table toppers Maghery is up next on Tuesday night. Well done boys!

Carraig Chropain 2-04 Tomás Dáibhis 2-13
Thomas Davis Under 16’s got their All County league campaign back on track after a lengthy layoff with a comprehensive victory over near neighbours Carrickcruppen last Thursday night in front of a sizeable crowd. Both sides had met earlier in the South Armagh League program with Carrickcruppen taking the spoils in that encounter so the Newry side were very keen to make amends. We started very well with some excellent scores from Lee Courtney, Caolan Marron (0-2) & Declan Loye to give us a 4 point advantage before the home side registered their first score from play. Both sides seemed evenly matched around the middle sector but time again our ability to win the breaking proved crucial to give good quality ball into our forwards where Caolan Marron was causing havoc and further increased our lead with an excellent score after great approach work from Jonny Tumilty & Jordan Mackey. Our lads keep the scoreboard ticking as the home side tried hard to get a foothold but our defence was solid throughout, with Brendan McCorry , Dean Faloon & Shane Keenan outstanding denying their opponents any space to leave the score 0-08 to 0-02 in our favour at halftime.
As expected Carrickcruppen came out all guns blazing to reel off 2 good scores from play but we weathered the storm well and a well worked move from our own defence allowed corner forward Caolan Marron to slot the ball away for his first goal on the night. This didn’t deflate the Cruppen team as they battled back and hit a goal to get back into it and moments later they registered their second major after their initial shot was well saved by keeper Ronan McMahon but the rebound was put to the net. The comeback seemed on the cards but the Newry Side never panicked and great leadership was shown by Declan Loye, Keyonis Crozier & Lee Courtney to lift the siege and play the game in the Cruppen half where we finished the game off with a second Caolan Marron goal and 4 points from Declan Loye, Aaron Cinnamond & Jordan Mackey in a five minute spell. Matthew Loughran & Conor Jennings were introduced into the forwards & did great work winning ball and making sure the opposition got no time to build from the back to seal a great win and claim the valuable league points. Great performances from every player on the park with Declan Loye, Lee Courtney, Aaron Cinnamond & Brendan McCorry having exceptional games on the night. Next games Thursday 29 August versus Ballyhegan at home & Sunday 01 September Ballymacnab at home in the semi-final of Shield.

MATCH REPORT
The minors travelled to Crossmaglen for the second time this year hoping to secure a similar result. With both teams going into this penultimate All County League game undefeated the result was going to have a major impact in the winning of the league campaign. With the throw in at 7.15pm both teams on the pitch the non appearance of the referee was a disappointment to the large number of supporters gathered, after a few phone calls a local Crossmaglen referee helped out for the game to proceed.
The boys got off to a flying start with the first point of the game coming from the boot of Conor Loye after two minutes. The next 15 mins it was all the away side with possession of the ball and another brace of points from Ryan McSherry, Phelim Finnegan and Decky Loye. The home side rattled over two points then came a goal from this years top goal scorer Decky Loye to leave the minors 1-5 0-2 . All seemed to be going well until a great save from David Hankin in nets to parry the ball away from a decent shot fell at the edge of the square only for the Crossmaglen forward to toe-poke the ball into the empty net. Each side traded some great points until halftime with the scores having the minors in front by a single point. A one point lead didn't reflect the effort and dominance the boys had in the first half.
The second half started the way the first half finished with each side trading points. The first break through come for the away side when a super 50yrd run from Lee Courtney ended up in the back of the net with a thunderous shot into the roof of the net to seemingly put a bit of breathing space between the two teams. As on many occasions in football it is often said teams are at their most vulnerable after they have scored and this was to be the case, from a free kick to the minors in a score-able position the ball landed short and Crossmaglen worked the ball the length of the field to raise the green flag. Once again there was nothing between the two teams in an exhilarating game until the minors were once again hit by a sucker punch from a blocked shot the ball once again was worked the distance for the flag to be raised again. This was to be the killer blow on the night with the boys trying to push on for scores Crossmaglen tagged over another few points in the dying mins to leave the score at the final whistle 3-13 2-11. Although bitterly disappointed the minors put in a great shift and from leading by two points with ten minutes to go and losing by five didn't do them justice. With another few players to come back from injury these boys can give the Championship a good rattle in the next few weeks and maybe get another shot at Crossmaglen in a neutral venue with the results this year between each other one victory each this match up could become a trilogy.
