Council Host Reception for Carnbane Rovers

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Michael Savage recently hosted a civic reception to mark the 50^th Anniversary of Carnbane Rovers.

The team won the Northern Ireland Youth Cup on St Stephen's Day 1972 defeating Distillery Colts.  Members of the winning team attended the event to share their memories of the win with the Chairperson.

During the event, Chairperson, Councillor Michael Savage presented an inscribed crystal bowl to Martin McKeown who was the Team Captain of the squad in 1972.
