Craobh Rua senior hurling team suffered defeat in their most recent league match against Castleblaney. It was a very young Craobh Rua side that lined out and they no doubt will gain from their experience. There is a home McCormack Cup match this Tuesday (13th May) v Killeavy and all players should be at the club for 6pm.
Underage
Our Underage teams continue to train on the allocated evenings. Training Times : Under 6s Craobh Rua Pitch Saturday mornings 11am to 12 noon: Under 8/10 Monday night 7-8pm : Under 12/14/16 Wednesday nights 7.30pm to 8.45pm. Can parents/ guardians ensure that all young children participating have appropriate footwear and clothes wear. Coaches inform players of any further news through the usual communication channels.
The Under 12 team put up a sterling performance against Keady last week and certainly can take many positives from the defeat. It was a great effort by all involved and is a clear indication that the continuing coaching and training being undertaken by the squad and their mentors is productive.
Craobh Rua Under 10 & Under 8 squads entertained County Down Club Balella in a friendly last week and both sets of teams found it beneficial. Many thanks to Balella and also to Davy O Brien, D J Doyle, Henry McCloy, Sean Byrne, and Cormac Lewis. A return to Balella will be made later in the year.
The under 8 game was an entertaining draw.Those who played well included Joe Mc Creesh who scored a great goal, Eoghan Garvey , Michael Hughes , Finn Elshaw, Seamus Cooney and Joe Short .

Club Activities
Congratulations: The Club wish to offer heartiest congratulations to all involved with the Armagh Ladies team who achieved National League success last weekend.
Monthly Draw: the winner of the Craobh Rua Camlocha Monthly Draw which took place in Doyles Camloch, was Teresa Mc Keown from Newtown Road. Many thanks to all for their continued financial support.
Giro: Well done all those communities who helped ensure the locality and south Armagh area in General was bright and welcoming to those participating in the international cycling Giro dItalia event.
