Heartbreak for Down

Down's old rivals Cork came away victorious from Pairc Esler with a goal in the dying seconds of Sunday's Allianz National Football League Game in Newry.

Apart from a scrappy goal from Cork in the dying minute of the first half It had looked like Down's game virtually all of the way through.

With seconds to spare Down were clinging on with a two point lead 1:17 to 2:12 only for Ciaran Sheehan to ruin the party and send the Lee siders back down the road with their first League Points of the campaign.

Final Score Down 1:17 Cork 3:12
