SDLP Newry councillor Kevin McAteer has congratulated Newry city ladies FC on their recent league and cup double highlighting the importance of developing the women’s game.
"It’s a remarkable achievement for women’s football and for Newry City ladies to win such a historic double. I know that Newry ladies FC have been working very hard for the past few years to get into the top division and the players and staff should be commended for their determination and hard work. They are a credit to our community."
