Armagh take on Donegal tonight in the opening round of the The Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup with a new squad of players under the microscope. Clan na Gael have 5 players in the starting 15 whole local eyes will be on Conor Magennis from Killeavy and Sean Conlon from Silverbridge.
Down have to wait till Saturday for their clash with Derry in Owenbeg.
Getting straight down to business, Manager Kieran McGeeney in his tenth season in charge of the senior team will be keeping a close eye on the performances of the newbies as he plans his team for the upcoming Allianz National Football League, with the first game 27 January when Armagh take on Louth at home.
Last year Armagh's progress was once again cruelly stopped by the dreaded penalty shoot-out having lost in an epic clash with Galway in 2022. In 2023 it was Derry in the Ulster Final and Monaghan in the Quarter Final who ensured they didn't advance.
Tonight's game kicks off at 7.30pm in Ballybofey.
