On a calm and warm Friday evening, 7 Newry AC athletes attended the annual 5k in Carlingford. This is a popular race with over 500 taking part. The course is flat and fast thus producing a highly competitive field with clubs from all over Ireland taking part.
Lee Maginnis was first over the line for Newry AC and was pleased with his sub 18 time. John, Andrew and Hughie all followed in pretty close to each other and all pleased with their performances. Sarah Jane, Meadow and Anna all had great runs with Meadow also picking up the prize for third.

Newry AC in conjunction with NIMRA have organised a 6 mile mountain race to include Slieve Martin and Knockshee on Saturday 31 August and sponsored by Mulvaney Corporate Services. Registration is through www.nimra.org.uk or on the day between9.30 and 10.30am with a start time of 11am from the Big Stone Car Park in Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor.
Get entering with what will be a great day of mountain running on a fabulous route with prizes and refreshments.
