Councillor Charlie Casey, Mayor of Newry and Mourne District Council would like to remind ALL schools in the Newry and Mourne District Council Area to register for the getset.london2012.com.
Get set is the official London 2012 education programme, and is the primary way for schools, colleges and other learning institutions to participate in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Registration on the Get Set site is online and only takes a few moments. There are many benefits for schools who join the get set network including the opportunity to secure an allocation of free tickets to the 2012 Games through the London 2012 Ticketshare initiative (please note you must apply by 16 December 2011 to avail of this opportunity)
The programme offers a huge range of opportunities and resources targeted at 3-19 year olds and aims to enhance young people's learning through Sport, Culture and Education.
Mayor Charlie Casey said “I would urge all schools in the District to avail of this wonderful opportunity to be part of the 2012 Olympics. This is an historic event and gives Newry the chance to profile the youth of the District in a very positive manner”.
