Senior Men
Our senior men played two challenge games at the week-end as they finalise their preparations for their opening league game next Sunday at home to Wolfe Tones. The lads took on the Bosco on Friday night before traveling to play Saul on Sunday. Both proved to be very useful workouts with all players getting game time ahead of next Sunday. Training continues as normal this week.
Senior Ladies
Our senior ladies got their season off to a winning start on Sunday morning with a hard-fought win away to Forkhill. Played in very windy conditions, the Shane’s girls had the better of the first-half and led by seven at the break. Forkhill mounted great comeback in the second-half with only some great defending by the Shane’s keeping the score in their favour and they held on to win on a score-line of 3 – 4 to 1 – 8. The Shane’s scorers on the day were Sinead McDonnell 1 – 1, Abby Shields 1 – 0, Hayley Mackin 1 – 0, Ciara Jones 0 – 2 and Sorcha McDonnell 0 – 1. We would like to wish both Abby Shields and Hayley Mackin who suffered injuries during the game.

The next league fixture is at home to Lisummon on Saturday 6th April at 6.45pm.
U14 Boys
Our U14 boy’s amalgamation of Patrick Rankins are through to the semi-final of the Féile Shield following a great win over Keady on Saturday afternoon. Keady started the game much better than the rather sluggish home side, but some wayward shooting saw them fail to make the most their bright opening. The home side then managed to bag a couple of goals but Keady still continued to play the better football overall. Another few scores for both sides saw the young Rankin’s side go in at half-time three points to the good.
The opening exchanges of the second-half proved to be keenly fought, with only one point between the sides after ten minutes before the home side stepped up their performance and opened up a clear advantage. Keady kept working hard and a few goals kept them right in the hunt but ultimately the home side did enough to claim the win.
Everyone got a run-out and the introduction of the second-half substitutes certainly made a difference. All in all, it was good to get the win but a better performance will be required at home to Silverbridge next Saturday at 4.00pm in the semi-final.
U12 Boys
Our U12 boys have a challenge on Wednesday night at home to Glenn at 6.15pm.
