Dinner Dance 2018
Saturday night saw the club hold a very successful dinner dance in the Canal Court Hotel with County Chairman Micky Savage and his wife and Yan and Vicky from Confucius Institute as the club’s guests of honour. Our own club chairman Mick Mackin began the night by welcoming everyone to the dinner dance and thanked everyone for all their hard work at the club throughout the year, making special mention to all our sponsors for their continued support.

With the no dinner dance last year our minor girls were presented with their Championship winning medals and league runners-up medals from 2017, whilst Orlaith McArdle was named as the 2017 Minor Player of the Year and Aoibheann Jones picking up the Senior Player of the Year for 2017. Peter Lynch then moved on to the awards for 2018 which saw Lia Robb named as the Minor Player of the Year, Ellen Hannaway collecting the Most Committed Player of the Year and Geraldine McNally picking up the Senior Player of the Year award. Aimee and Blaithin Mackin were also presented with their individual County awards from last year. A special presentation was also made to club on behalf of last year’s senior ladies as Louise Kenny presented Mick Mackin with a signed jersey to commemorate their journey to last year’s All-Ireland club final.
The awards part of the night then moved on to the senior men and they were all presented with their Intermediate B League winning medals for 2018 before Ciaran Mackin was named as the Minor Player of the Year for this year. David McCabe was awarded the Senior Player of the Year for 2017 with Nathan Morgan claiming the award for 2018.
The individual club awards were up next with Yasmin Mackin being named as the 2018 Club Person of the Year whilst Marie Gregory picked up the Hall of Fame award. Special presentations were also made to Connaire Mackin and Greg McCabe in recognition of their successful season with the Armagh senior men’s team.
The rest of the night was spent on the dance-floor with everyone having a brilliant night’s craic. The club would like to thank everyone who attended and made it a great night, to all those who helped to organise the event and to the Canal Court Hotel for a brilliant meal and hospitality on the night.
