As part of Iúr Cinn Fleadh Newry.ie is giving a prize of £100 for the Best Street Session.
Iur Cinn Fleadh runs from Friday the 12th to Sunday the 14th of September.
The Best Street Session Competition will take place on Saturday the 13th of September from 12am to 2pm in Hill Street.
To enter just turn up on the day for 12pm or before, find somewhere suitable along Hill Street to perform and go ahead and entertain the crowds.
Because the Festival is concentrating on traditional and folk music you will be at an advantage if this is the your chosen genre but we are very open to be blown away by any particular talent.
You can be on your own or there could be a dozen of you, numbers don’t matter, it’s the capacity you have to entertain!
Entry is free and we will walk round taking details of those who wish to enter at 12pm and our judge (whose decision is obviously final) will discretely listen and observe with marks not just for musical talent and entertainment value but also audience interest and/or participation and suitability of the location you choose.
