Write a commentThe Newry and Mourne 31 x 10km Charity Runs in March 2013 was publicly announced by Chief Organiser Mark McElroy at Newry Swimming Pool today.
The 31 x 10km will start on Friday 1st March at Sculpt Fitness Centre, Carnbane Industrial Estate, Newry at 7.00pm and requested that as many people as possible register for this exiting challenge.
He also stated that runs would be held in various locations throughout the District e.g. Greenbank Industrial Estate, Sportsman/Carrickdale, Newry Court House, Whistledown Hotel, Warrenpoint, Kilbroney Park, Slieve Gullion, Ballyholland GAA Club, Crossmaglen GAA Club, Glen GAA Club etc.
Concluding Mark confirmed that the 3 Charities chosen this year to receive sponsorship are: -
1.PIPS, Newry
2.Mcmillan Cancer Support
3.Clanrye Group, Newry
The Mayor of Newry and Mourne District Council John McArdle said he was pleased to be associated with the March 2013
31 x 10km runs. "Health & Wellbeing was very high in the Council’s agenda and congratulated all those involved in the organization of this exciting event which was being held during the Council’s “Give It A Go” fitness campaign in March 2013."
The Mayor concluded by requesting that as many people as possible both young and old register for the 31 x 10km at its registration night in Newry Arts Centre on Wednesday 27 February 2013 at 6.30pm or on the night of any of the runs.
