As part of their continued efforts to disrupt the illegal supply of drugs, detectives in Newry conducted four planned searches across the area on Tuesday.
Cannabis with an estimated street value of £350,000 was seized at a property in the Bridge Road area of Warrenpoint.
A 43 year old man was arrested and later charged to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court yesterday. He will answer charges of being concerned in the production of drugs, cultivating cannabis, possessing class b drugs with intent to supply, possession of class B drugs, causing electricity to be diverted and preventing a meter from registering electricity supplied. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
Newry and Mourne Area Commander, Chief Inspector Davy Beck said: "Through this planned operation we have been able to prevent a substantial amount of drugs from reaching our streets. This shows our clear commitment to addressing the supply and distribution of illegal drugs and bringing those responsible before the courts."
