Newry and Mourne Museum has announced a full programme of free events throughout May, covering everything from fashion history and digital animation to heritage bus tours and drawing masterclasses.
The museum will also be open on Bank Holiday Monday 4 May from 10am to 4.30pm.
This Saturday 2 May at 11am there's Fashion Reborn, where curator Charlotte McReynolds will tell the story of how the Ulster Museum rebuilt a world-class textile collection following a devastating fire.
On Sunday 3 May, filmmaker Kevin Cameron leads a hands-on Stop-Frame Animation workshop from 11am to 4pm, aimed at those aged 13 and over. Participants will use iPads to explore themes of fashion and sustainability through the medium of animation.
On Saturday 9 May, from 10am to 4.30pm, Una Walsh hosts a Social Housing Project Bus Tour offering a deep dive into the heritage of Newry and South Armagh.
Saturday 16 May sees the museum mark National Drawing Day with a sketching masterclass hosted by local artist Dwyer McKerr, running from 11am to 1pm and open to those aged 10 to 15.
Alongside the events programme, visitors can explore two current exhibitions at the museum: Making Waves, which charts Newry's rise as a centre of global trade, and Categorically Celtic, examining ancient motifs in modern life.
Free audio guides are available in English, Irish, French and German, with special children's tours also on offer for ages 7 to 12.
All events are free but booking is essential.
