After the success of the recent Lá Mór na Gaeilge in Dublin where thousands marched to demand language rights and equality for the Irish Language, this weekend it is the turn of Belfast and on Saturday the 12th of April An Lá Dearg takes place starting at Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich, 216 Falls Road at 2pm and finishing at Custom House Square.
The demands of the campaign are:
A comprehensive rights-based Irish Language Act for the North.
That the State in the North fulfil their obligations to develop a comprehensive Irish-medium Education system.
That adequate resources be provided for the Irish speaking Community.
