Newry man Anthony Morgan is looking forward to running the Dublin Marathon this Sunday, while also raising much needed funds for Rathore School in Newry.
Morgan's son Conor is a pupil at the school and he 'loves going to school every day'. Morgan only started running in July 2025 and already has competed in several races including the Belfast Marathon but it's the Dublin Marathon he really wants to complete.
"This challenge is incredibly personal to me." He explains, adding: "My son, Conor, attends Rathore School, along with my nieces, nephews, and many of Conor's wee friends.
"Conor has ASD, global developmental delay, and is non-speaking. Rathore School provides him with the specialist support and nurturing environment he needs to thrive, and he absolutely loves going to school every day. Seeing how happy and well supported he is makes this cause even more meaningful to me."
Rathore School educates children and young people aged 3–19 with complex learning difficulties and every donation, no matter how small, will help create meaningful opportunities for the pupils, support school activities, and enhance outings and experiences outside the classroom.
The fundraiser has already raised over £2500 online plus funds raised offline in places like Magees Bar which has nearly filled a massive bottle with cash.
