Armagh Down Vintage Club is celebrating the success of its Annual Threshing Rally, which raised vital funds for Air Ambulance NI.
A total of £771 was raised at the popular event, held 11 October. Attendees enjoyed vintage tractor displays, traditional threshing demonstrations, family entertainment and local refreshments and proceeds will support Air Ambulance NI's work across the region.
Alan Gillespie expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved. He said: "We're delighted with the turnout and the community spirit shown once again this year. Air Ambulance NI provides an essential service that saves lives every day, and we're proud to play our part in supporting their incredible work. A huge thank-you to our members, volunteers, and everyone who contributed, your kindness makes all the difference."
Air Ambulance NI brings urgent medical assistance anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day. The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre-hospital care direct to the casualty with the aim of saving lives, brains and limbs. The aircraft can reach anywhere in the province within 25 minutes.
On average the medical team are called upon twice every day, whether that's to a serious road traffic collision, farm or workplace accident, sport and leisure incident or a serious medical emergency. Any patients or families who have been touched by the work of the Air Ambulance are welcome to visit the airbase and should get in touch with Air Ambulance NI by calling 028 9262 2677.
Air Ambulance NI also extended thanks to the club and local community, highlighting that the charity requires £8,200 each day to sustain its operations. Events like the rally help ensure that the Air Ambulance can continue to deliver critical pre-hospital care. As a local charity, Air Ambulance NI aspires to raise £3 million each year to maintain and sustain this service, so public donations are crucial. One of the simplest ways to support is by becoming a member of Club AANI and donating via a monthly or annual subscription.
