A motion tabled by Mr Kennedy highlighting the issue of "Broadband Provision in Newry & Armagh" has been selected as the final debate.
Mr Kennedy said “Whilst I am pleased that the important issue of broadband service in my constituency has been scheduled for debate, I am disappointed that the dissolution of the political institutions at Stormont mean that it is likely that a practical response to the issue of poor broadband service will be subsequently delayed.
“Poor broadband service is a significant issue throughout the Newry & Armagh area, particularly in rural parts. I will be providing evidence during the debate from constituents all across the constituency expressing both frustration and dissatisfaction at the level of broadband provision.
“I hope and fully expect the Economy Minister and his senior officials to attend and respond to the debate. I hope that Departmental officials will take on board the concerns of my constituents, even though the election will cause a break in the devolved administration through the actions of the two largest Parties currently in power.”
