It seemed like the entire population of the small townland of Lissummon had come home today to lay their friend to rest at Lissummon Chapel.
Jacqueline (Jacqui) Rafferty passed away at Hammersmith Hospital in London on 3 May while waiting for a Bone Marrow Transplant following a short battle with leukaemia. Members of Lissummon GFC formed a Guard of Honor outside the Church of the Imaculate Conception as her remains were taken into the chapel.

Jacqueline worked at Newry Credit Union and had for many years dedicated endless hours to her beloved Lissummon Club including 20 years as treasurer. She had also carried out much fundraising, not only for the club but for many charities. A Club representative explained that she had gave over 40 years of service and been involved in helping run so many unforgetable events for the club over the years. As far as Armagh football was concerned Jacqueline and her friends were some of the county's best fans, following the team the length and breadth of the country.
At the Funeral Mass Partner Denis and her friend Siofra reflected on how she had touched their lives. Denis thanked all the staff in Daisy Hill Hospital, Craigavon Hosptal, City Hospital Belfast and Hammersmith Hospital who gave Jacqui such love and care over the past year.
Jacqueline passed away at Hammersmith before her bone marrow transplant could happen. Her partner called for people to consider becoming a bone marrow donor in order to help other leukaemia sufferers. You can find out more at www.bbmr.co.uk
Jacqueline was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery beside her Mother and Father and brother Adrian, accompanied by the beautiful 'You Raise Me Up' sung by her friend Sharon.
